About Our HRA Calculator
This House Rent Allowance (HRA) Calculator helps you determine the amount of HRA that is exempt from income tax. HRA is a common component of an employee's salary structure.
How Does It Work?
The HRA exemption is the minimum of the following three amounts:
- Actual HRA received from the employer.
- Actual rent paid minus 10% of basic salary.
- 50% of basic salary (for metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata) OR 40% of basic salary (for non-metro cities).
To use the calculator:
